The Nease Panthers's and the Hilliard Red Flashes's matchup on Wednesday was close at halftime, but the Nease Panthers turned on the heat in the second half with 24 points. Everything went Nease's way against Hilliard as Nease made off with a 45-24 win. The win was just what Nease needed coming off of a 51-28 loss in their prior contest.
Leading Nease to victory were Casey Eliason and McKenna Owens. Eliason scored eight points along with six rebounds and three blocks, while Owens scored ten points along with six rebounds and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Audrey Rollins, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Nease's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-9. As for Hilliard, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.
Nease will be playing at home against Keystone Heights at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Keystone Heights has now lost 11 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 30. Hilliard won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Yulee at 6:00 p.m. on January 18th. Hopefully Yulee focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 last Monday.
