The San Diego Vaqueros lost against the Gregory-Portland Wildcats back in November, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. San Diego was the victim of a rough 58-37 defeat at the hands of Gregory-Portland. San Diego has not had much luck with Gregory-Portland recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Gregory-Portland's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Bella Davis led the charge by scoring 23 points along with seven steals and six assists. That makes it three consecutive games in which Davis has scored at least 25% of Gregory-Portland's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Rheanna Escamilla, who scored 15 points along with seven assists and three steals.
San Diego's loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Gregory-Portland, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-8.
San Diego and Rockport-Fulton will face off at 3:40 p.m. on December 28th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Gregory-Portland is on the road again on January 5, 2024 and play against Miller at 6:15 p.m. on January 5, 2024.
