The Reagan Rattlers will venture away from home to challenge the Brennan Bears at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Wednesday, Reagan beat Brandeis 66-56. Given the Rattlers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 85th, while the Broncos are ranked 212th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Chase Hill had a dynamite game for Reagan, putting up 15 points and eight rebounds. Hill is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last four games he's played. Matt Velasquez also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.
Meanwhile, Brennan entered their tilt with Warren on Wednesday with 17 consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with 18. They really took it to the Warriors for the full four quarters, racking up a 90-39 victory. With the Bears ahead 54-25 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Brennan's win came from a few key players Reagan will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Kingston Flemings, who almost dropped a double-double with 11 points and nine assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Talon Todd, who went 6-for-10 en route to 14 points.
Brennan smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in seven consecutive matchups.
The win made it two in a row for Reagan and bumps their season record up to 22-10. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.5 points over those games. As for Brennan, their victory was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 29-2.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Reagan has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 23.1 boards per game. However, it's not like Brennan struggles in that department as they've been averaging 23.9 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Reagan couldn't quite finish off Brennan in their previous meeting back in March of 2022 and fell 56-54. Can Reagan avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
