Even though Tower Hill scored an imposing 56 points on Saturday, Sanford still came out on top. Sanford took their match against Tower Hill 68-56. Given Sanford's advantage in MaxPreps' Delaware basketball rankings (they are ranked fifth, while Tower Hill is ranked 28th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Jayden Taylor continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 13 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Stephen Conway, who scored 13 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Wilmington Christian entered their tilt with First State Military Academy with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Wilmington Christian simply couldn't be stopped on Wednesday as they easily beat First State Military Academy 53-26 at home. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Wilmington Christian has managed all season.
Sanford has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. As for Wilmington Christian, they pushed their record up to 3-3 with that victory, which was their third straight at home.
Everything came up roses for Sanford against Wilmington Christian in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 as the team secured a 75-34 win. Does Sanford have another victory up their sleeve, or will Wilmington Christian turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
