The Alva Goldbugs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 28 points or more this season. They blew past Blackwell, posting a 65-24 win on the road. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Alva has managed all season.
Carly Argo was her usual excellent self, going 8 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 27 points and 0 assists. Those 27 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Kylie Adair, who scored seven points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Alva pushed their record up to 9-1 with that victory, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 22.82 points. As for Blackwell, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 3-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Alva is on the road again on Thursday and play against Chisholm at 3:15 p.m. on January 4th. Chisholm will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Oklahoma Rankings (they are ranked 381st, while Alva is ranked 36th). As for Blackwell, they will head out on the road to face off against Felt at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Felt is coming into the match on a six-game losing streak.
