When it comes to explaining why Breckenridge lost, one person who can't be blamed is Karsyn Smalley. Despite the final result, she scored 11 points along with six rebounds. Zaea Ragle was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Mount Vernon's win bumped their record up to 8-5. As for Breckenridge, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-14.
Mount Vernon will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Rivercrest at 6:00 p.m. on December 28th. Breckenridge and Millsap will face off at 6:15 a.m. on December 12th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Millsap is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
