The Christian Community Warriors will head out on the road to square off against the Heritage Christian Patriots at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Christian Community and five for Heritage Christian dating back to last season.
Last Friday, things could have been worse for Christian Community, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 48-33 loss to HEARTS for Jesus Christ. While losing is never fun, Christian Community can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 684th, while HEARTS for Jesus Christ is ranked 321st).
Despite the defeat, Christian Community got a solid performance out of Sarah Solak, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds and three steals. That was a full 48.5% of Christian Community's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Meanwhile, Heritage Christian was the victim of a rough 54-30 defeat at the hands of Christian Community back in December of 2023.
Christian Community's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Heritage Christian, they bumped their record down to 0-3 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Everything went Christian Community's way against Heritage Christian when the teams last played back in December of 2023 as Christian Community made off with a 54-30 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Christian Community since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
