The Palmetto Ridge Bears will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Lely Trojans at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Palmetto Ridge has five straight victories, Lely has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Thursday, everything went Palmetto Ridge's way against Immokalee as Palmetto Ridge made off with a 72-50 victory. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 42-20.
Calven Charles continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 22 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sean Gomez, who scored 13 points along with 7 rebounds.
Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought contest, but Lely had to settle for a 55-52 defeat against Aubrey Rogers on Thursday.
Lely's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Wally Monpremier, who scored 8 points along with 8 rebounds, and Jayce Cora who scored 6 points along with 7 rebounds and 5 blocks. Cora is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now stole two or more in the last three games he's played. Marvell Jean Pierre was another key contributor, scoring 10 points along with 3 steals.
Palmetto Ridge has yet to lose a game on the road this season, leaving them with a 5-0 record. As for Lely, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.
