Stringer scored the most points they've had this season on Thursday, but it wasn't enough. They took a 49-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sylva Bay Academy Saints. The Red Devils haven't had much luck with the Saints recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Sylva Bay Academy found their leader in freshman Livy Shumock, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 22 boards. Those 22 rebounds set a new season-high mark for Shumock. The team also got some help courtesy of Kynlee Bennett, who posted 14 points and six boards.

Stringer's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Sylva Bay Academy, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-1.

Looking ahead, Stringer will take on Northeast Jones at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Sylva Bay Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 41-22 victory against Kemper Academy on the 21st.
