Softball Recap: Aberdeen Beats Shelton for Their Sixth Straight Victory

Aberdeen came tearing into Wednesday's match with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.6 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Shelton Highclimbers get on the board and left with a 6-0 win. Considering the Bobcats have won ten games by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Not much got past Lilly Camp, who gave up just two hits and racked up 17 Ks to keep Shelton off the board. Camp has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Zoe Vessey was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high.

Aberdeen pushed their record up to 19-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Shelton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-16 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Aberdeen will square off against rival WF West at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Shelton is set to face off against their familiar foe Tumwater at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
