The De Soto Pirates are taking a road trip to challenge the Weston Silver Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. De Soto will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
On Monday, De Soto got the win against La Farge by a conclusive 17-3. Considering the Pirates have won 11 matches by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Lane Ghelf made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off two hits. Those 11 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, De Soto got a massive performance out of Finn Wrobel, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases Wrobel has posted over his last ten contests. Bryce Schultz was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
De Soto was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .600. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Weston couldn't beat Seneca on Monday even though they stacked four runs on them in the third inning. The Silver Eagles fell just short of the Indians by a score of 7-5. The Silver Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Garrett Granger was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Hunter Coy, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.
De Soto's record is now 13-9. As for Weston, their loss dropped their record down to 12-6.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. De Soto has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Weston struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8.6 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
De Soto couldn't quite finish off Weston when the teams last played back in April and fell 2-0. Can the Pirates avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
