The Lake George Lakers will head out to face off against the Fort Ann Cardinals at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
Last Friday, Lake George was beaten by Corinth 69-40. While losing is never fun, the Lakers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 792nd, while the Riverhawks are ranked 311th).

Lake George's defeat came about despite a quality game from Max Hohman, who almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine rebounds. Hohman is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last nine games he's played. Eli Brown was another key player, putting up two points in addition to ten rebounds and three steals.
Even though they lost, Lake George smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive board total in four consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Fort Ann over Argyle in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Fort Ann blew Argyle out of the water with a 76-33 final score. The Cardinals pushed the score to 57-27 by the end of the third, a deficit the Scots had little chance of recovering from.
Lake George better focus on containing Kadence Cutter and Javier Hernandez as the pair were huge in Fort Ann's win. Cutter dropped a double-double on 23 points and 16 boards, while Hernandez dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten assists. Hernandez has become a key player for Fort Ann: the team is undefeated when he posts at least eight assists, but 6-8 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Hunter Charpentier, who posted ten points along with five assists and three steals.
Lake George dropped their record down to 4-14 with the loss, which was their ninth straight on the road. As for Fort Ann, they now have a winning record of 9-8.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Lake George has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 30.4 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Fort Ann struggles in that department as they've been averaging 31.9 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Lake George came up short against Fort Ann in their previous meeting back in January, falling 44-40. Can Lake George avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
