The Heppner Mustangs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 20 points or more this season. Everything went their way against Riverside on Monday as Heppner made off with a 46-25 victory. The win was just what Heppner needed coming off of a 43-12 defeat in their prior match.
When it comes to explaining why Riverside lost, one person who can't be blamed is Crystal Sanchez. Despite the final result, she scored 11 points along with six rebounds and six steals. Those six rebounds set a new season-high mark for her.
Heppner's win bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Riverside, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-2.
