Staunton made easy work of Roxana on Friday and carried off a 28-6 win. The rankings were on Staunton's side, but they didn't forecast quite such a lopsided result.
Staunton got off to a slow start in their matchup last week, but they had no such trouble against Roxana as they cruised to a 21-point first half. Meanwhile, Roxana couldn't get anything going offensively, leaving the score at 21-0 heading into the break. The other side of the ball continued to do well for Staunton in the second half and held Roxana to 6 points.
Senior Griffin Bianco was the offensive standout of the match for Staunton, as he picked up 58 yards on the ground and accumulated 105 passing yards. Additional support came from defensive powerhouse senior Blake Reathaford, who racked up 11 tackles.
The victory bumped Staunton's record up to 5-4. This is the second loss in a row for Roxana and nudges their record down to 2-7.
