The Sneads Pirates's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. Their rough 60-35 defeat to Blountstown might stick with them for a while. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Sneads in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now lost six in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Sneads lost, one person who can't be blamed is Ella Sprouse. Despite the final result, she scored 12 points.
Blountstown got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Cyianna Smith out in front who scored 17 points. Smith hasn't dropped below 16 points for nine straight games. Another player making a difference was Jill Davis, who scored 13 points.
Sneads has not been sharp recently as the team's lost nine of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season. As for Blountstown, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-1.
Sneads will head out on the road to square off against the Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Altha has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Blountstown, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Marauders at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Maclay will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 417th, while the Tigers are ranked 196th).
