Potlatch hasn't had much luck against Clearwater Valley recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Loggers will welcome the Rams at 4:00 p.m. Potlatch is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.2 runs per game this season.

Last Friday, Potlatch made easy work of Prairie and carried off an 8-2 victory. The win continues a trend for the Loggers in their matchups with the Pirates: they've now won three in a row.

Jameson Morris spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on nine hits and racked up 12 Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jay Marshall, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Waylan Marshall, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Clearwater Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against Kendrick, falling 12-1.

Potlatch's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Clearwater Valley, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 5-5.

Potlatch couldn't quite finish off Clearwater Valley when the teams last played back in May of 2024 and fell 3-1. Can the Loggers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
