The Forrest Rockets's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their eighth straight loss. They received a tough blow as they fell 55-41 to Grundy County. While losing is never fun, Forrest can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 340th, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 158th).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Grundy County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Gracie Panter, who scored 12 points. Panter continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Carlee Smartt was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with two steals.
Forrest's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Grundy County, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.
Forrest will be playing in front of their home fans against the Champions at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Grundy County, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on January 27th.
