There's no place like home for the Northwood Timberwolves, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Saturday. They enjoyed a cozy 57-38 victory over Fountain Valley on Wednesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Northwood also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2018.
It was another big night for Zaid Yunis, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds. That makes it six consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Northwood's points. Another player making a difference was Tjark (TJ) Navarro, who scored 12 points.
Northwood pushed their record up to 8-3 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.3 points per game. As for Fountain Valley, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northwood will square off against Los Amigos at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Los Amigos' favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five contests. As for Fountain Valley, they will head out on the road to face off against University at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. University will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 700th, while Fountain Valley is ranked 110th).
