Mountain Crest is 0-10 against Ridgeline since April of 2022 but things could change on Tuesday. The Mustangs will face off against the Riverhawks at 3:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Mountain Crest was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Green Canyon on Tuesday. The Mustangs blew past the Wolves 14-4. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Wolves recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Morgan Coulam was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over six innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one run. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2025.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Izzy Laughery, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and one stolen base. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Abby Nelson, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Mountain Crest was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .469. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Ridgeline made easy work of Duchesne on Thursday and carried off a 17-6 win. The Riverhawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by eight runs or more this season.
Like Mountain Crest, Ridgeline also got a great game from a two-way player: Oaklee Richards. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits. Richards was also big at the plate, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with one triple and one RBI. That triple was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Ridgeline got a massive performance out of Kennedy Dahlke, who went 4-for-5 with three RBI and two doubles. Those doubles were Dahlke's first of the season. Kylie Jorgensen was another key player, getting on base in four of her six plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
Mountain Crest's record now sits at 8-9. As for Ridgeline, their record is now 10-5.
Mountain Crest came up short against Ridgeline when the teams last played back in April of 2025, falling 10-5. Can the Mustangs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
