The Bethune Bobcats lost against the Wiley Panthers back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Bethune took a 44-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of Wiley. Bethune has not had much luck with Wiley recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Bethune's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Madilyn Powell, who scored 12 points along with seven steals and six rebounds, and Samantha Robinson who scored seven points along with ten rebounds and two steals. Powell has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played.
Bethune has traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season. As for Wiley, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-11.
Bethune will head out on the road to face off against Granada at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Wiley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against South Baca [Campo/Vilas/Pritchett] at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Wiley will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 264th, while South Baca [Campo/Vilas/Pritchett] is ranked 122nd).
