Watervliet extended the longest winning streak in Southwestern - South this week by beating Lawrence, 68-6. The win marks seventh in a row for the the Panthers.
Watervliet's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Jake Cowsert threw for 297 and four touchdowns and Travis Bolin had 140 yards receiving. On the ground Cowsert chipped in 82 yards. Bailey Blocker helped Watervliet's passing attack out by catching two balls for 118 yards.
Jeremy Andrews' team's Cowsert and Bolin have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Cowsert has thrown for 1314 yards this season, while Bolin, a 5-foot-9 receiver, has 30 catches for 812 yards. David Mireles from the Indians leads the league in rushing with 874 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Panthers take on Decatur. At the moment, Watervliet is in first, while the Raiders are in third.

The Raiders moved up to 228 from 280 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Southwestern - South. Decatur climbed the ranks as a result of a 28-0 win over Hartford.
