Chippewa has gone 8-2 against Hillsdale recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Chipps will challenge the Falcons at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Chippewa will bounce into Tuesday's match after beating Triway, who they had gone 0-3 against in their three prior meetings. The Chipps walked away with a 3-1 win over the Titans on Monday.
Chippewa had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 24-26, 25-21, 25-23, 25-18.
Meanwhile, Hillsdale had just enough and edged out Rittman 3-2 on Thursday. The victory continues a trend for the Falcons in their matchups with the Indians: they've now won five in a row.
Hillsdale took Rittman into a fifth set where they got it done with a eight-point win. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 25-18, 25-23, 21-25, 15-7.
Chippewa better focus on containing Joslyn Fickes and Kennedy Fickes as the pair were huge in Hillsdale's win. Joslyn had 16 digs, while Kennedy had 33 digs. Those 16 digs gave Joslyn a new career-high. Jordyn Fickes also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.
Chippewa's record is now 9-7. As for Hillsdale, their record now sits at 11-7.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Tuesday's matchup: Chippewa has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 9.4 aces per game. However, it's not like Hillsdale struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 6.4 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
