The South Beloit Sobos will take on the Ashton-Franklin Center Raiders at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. South Beloit knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Ashton-Franklin Center likes a good challenge.
11 must be South Beloit's lucky number: they beat Christian Liberty with that score not once but twice on Saturday. The Sobos didn't even let the Chargers on the board, marking the Sobos' second-straight 11-0 shutout. The Sobos haven't had any issues with the Chargers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Macey Lineman made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 14 over six innings pitched. Those 14 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, South Beloit let Taniyah Crawford and Whitney Schnack run wild. Crawford scored two runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-4, while Schnack went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one double. That triple was Schnack's first of the season. Jasmine Fago was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
South Beloit was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Ashton-Franklin Center's offense. They came up short against Indian Creek on Friday, falling 9-0. Having soared to a lofty 19 runs in the game before, the Raiders' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
South Beloit pushed their record up to 4-4 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for Ashton-Franklin Center, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-11.
South Beloit came out on top in a nail-biter against Ashton-Franklin Center when the teams last played back in April of 2024, sneaking past 15-14. Do the Sobos have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Raiders turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
