Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hays). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Lockhart Lions 76-23. Given the Hawks' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 162nd, while the Lions are ranked 891st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The victory was the third in a row for Hays, bringing their record for this year to 10-8. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.0 points per game. As for Lockhart, they dropped their record down to 4-12 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

Hays will take on Midway in a tournament on Friday. One thing working in Hays' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three matchups.
