It was a good run, but the Caesar Rodney Riders finally witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak. They were just a bucket short of a win on Tuesday and fell 58-57 to the Smyrna Eagles. The defeat was just more heartbreak for Caesar Rodney, who fell 59-57 when the teams previously met in January.
The loss dropped the Riders' record to 12-6. The victory -- their third in a row -- raised Smyrna's record to 14-4.
The Riders will stay at home against Dover Friday. Caesar Rodney will really need to gear up for this challenge, as Dover will be their toughest opponent yet. Smyrna will take on Polytech Friday at home. Smyrna has the odds in their favor, so they'll need to guard against complacency.
