On Tuesday, Washington didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Capuchino, but they still walked away with a 48-44 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Washington.
Leading Washington to victory were Johnson Chang and Tommy Mayfield-Commer. Chang scored 10 points along with 4 steals, while Mayfield-Commer scored 13 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals. Another player making a difference was Jaydon Chow, who scored 11 points.
Capuchino's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Isaiah Cruz, who scored 15 points along with 9 rebounds and 5 steals, and Dominic Vanden Berghe who scored 9 points along with 8 rebounds. Cruz scored a full 34.1% of Capuchino's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Sebastian Conclara was another key contributor, scoring 6 points along with 3 steals.
Even though they lost, Capuchino were working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Washington only posted three.
Washington now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Capuchino, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Washington will take on Arroyo at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Capuchino is on the road again on Wednesday and play against Jefferson at 7:30 p.m. on November 29th.
