Midfield is 6-0 against Childersburg since January of 2023, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Midfield Patriots will look to defend their home court against the Childersburg Tigers at 6:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Midfield's favor as the team sits on four straight wins at home while Childersburg has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Midfield had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They strolled past the Wildcats with points to spare, taking the game 65-49. Given Midfield's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 103rd, while Tarrant is ranked 261st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Armonie Franklin was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 11 assists. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 17 or more in the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaden Sellers, who scored 11 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Childersburg earned a 52-45 win over Indian Springs on Tuesday.
Midfield is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-9 record this season. As for Childersburg, their win bumped their record up to 15-10.
