Basketball Recap: Jasper-Troupsburg Piles Up the Points Against Hammondsport

Jasper-Troupsburg lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Hammondsport, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of 1's contest. The Jasper-Troupsburg Wildcats claimed a resounding 83-28 victory over the Hammondsport Lakers. The Wildcats' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Jasper-Troupsburg was led to victory by Landon Zver and Nolan Vallieres. Zver went 9 for 14 on his way to 23 points in addition to six assists and five steals, while Vallieres went 9 for 13 on his way to 22 points and eight rebounds. That's the most steals Zver has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Xavier Remchuk, who posted nine points in addition to five assists and five boards.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Jasper-Troupsburg was working as a unit and finished the game with 22 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Jasper-Troupsburg moved to 4-4 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak. As for Hammondsport, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jasper-Troupsburg will challenge Bolivar-Richburg at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Bolivar-Richburg knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matches -- so hopefully Jasper-Troupsburg likes a good challenge. As for Hammondsport, they will face off against Andover at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
