The Platte County Pirates will head out on the road to face off against the Belton Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Platte County has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 248 points over their last four matches.
Last Friday, Platte County earned a 57-46 win over Chrisman.
Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Belton's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of Raymore-Peculiar by a score of 54-51. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss Belton has suffered against Raymore-Peculiar since January 9, 2015.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Kordell Williams, who scored 18 points. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last four games he's played. Cooper Shrum was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Platte County's victory bumped their record up to 12-8. As for Belton, they dropped their record down to 9-15 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
Platte County didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Belton in their previous meeting back in January, but they still walked away with a 58-54 victory. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Williams, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Platte County still be able to contain Williams? There's only one way to find out.
