After two games on the road, Tahlequah is heading back home. They will take on The Bartlesville Bruins at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 55-14, which was the final score in Tahlequah's tilt against Stillwater on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Tahlequah can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma football rankings (they are ranked 90th, while Stillwater is ranked 17th).
Tahlequah's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Darryn Spahr, who rushed for 69 yards and a touchdown, and Beckett Robinson who picked up 94 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Bartlesville's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They fell just short of Muskogee by a score of 30-27. That's two games in a row now that Bartlesville has lost by exactly three points.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Nate Neal, who threw for 199 yards and two touchdowns. Pj Wallace was another key contributor, rushing for 149 yards and a touchdown.
Tahlequah's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Bartlesville, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 3-6.
Tahlequah came up short against Bartlesville in their previous meeting back in November of 2022, falling 28-16. Will Tahlequah have more luck at home instead of on the road?
