The Christian Academy Saints stacked a 15th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They blew past Williamsburg Academy 46-14 at home. Given Christian Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 91st, while Williamsburg Academy is ranked 259th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Payton Rumley, who dropped a triple-double on 18 points, 19 rebounds, and 12 steals. It was the first time this season that she scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Claire Owens, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Christian Academy has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 21-6 record this season. As for Williamsburg Academy, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-9.
Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Wilson Hall at 6:00 p.m. on February 7th. Christian Academy's defense has only allowed 22.1 points per game this season, so Wilson Hall's offense will have their work cut out for them. Williamsburg Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
