Football Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Palmdale

With a playoff win on the line, Palmdale rose to the challenge on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Carter Lions, sneaking past 45-43. The win was nothing new for the Falcons as they're now sitting on four straight.

Joshua Suarez threw for 161 yards and three touchdowns. Zason Walker was his top target, picking up 53 receiving yards. On the ground, Elleyon Clark rushed for 141 yards.

When it comes to explaining why Carter lost, don't look at Jordan Mckinney. Despite the final result, he rushed for 200 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.3 yards per carry, and also picked up 42 receiving yards. Mckinney has become a key player for Carter: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 3-4 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Joey Martinez, who picked up 117 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Palmdale is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. A key ingredient in that success has been their rushing production: they averaged an imposing 118.2 rushing yards in those games compared to only 118.2 in the others. As for Carter, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 9-4 record.

Palmdale didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 41-38 victory against Selma on the 7th. Carter does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
