Parkland has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against The Horizon Scorpions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Horizon took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Parkland, who comes in off a win.
Even though Hanks scored an imposing 34 points on Friday, Parkland still came out on top. Parkland secured a 38-34 W over Hanks.
ERIK ORTIZ had a dynamite game for Parkland, rushing for 101 yards and two touchdowns, while also throwing for 179 yards and two touchdowns. Kaleb Martinez and his 172 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Parkland's win.
Meanwhile, Horizon's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their eighth straight loss. They were outmatched by Bel Air on the road and fell 54-0.
Parkland now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Horizon, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 1-8.
Everything came up roses for Parkland against Horizon when the teams last played back in November of 2022 as the team secured a 48-10 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Parkland since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
