Holbrook is 6-0 against Ganado since December of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Holbrook Roadrunners will be playing in front of their home fans against the Ganado Hornets at 7:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Tuesday, Holbrook narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Chinle 59-57. With that win, Holbrook brought their scoring average up to 50.8 points per game.
Holbrook's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Xavier Brown, who scored 18 points along with 6 rebounds and 3 steals, and Tyler Tapaha, who scored 27 points along with 6 assists and 6 rebounds. The matchup was Tapaha's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jaron Becenti, who scored 6 points.
Meanwhile, Ganado was able to grind out a solid win over Many Farms on Tuesday, taking the game 66-57. The win made it back-to-back wins for Ganado.
Ganado can attribute much of their success to Grant Paddock, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 12 rebounds. Paddock is absolutely dominating the block category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Billy, who scored 8 points along with 13 rebounds and 4 steals.
The win got Holbrook back to even at 3-3. As for Ganado, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Everything came up roses for Holbrook against Ganado when the teams last played back in December of 2022 as the team secured a 69-34 win. Will Holbrook repeat their success, or does Ganado have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
