4A District 2 recap October 1, 2013
Neville extended the longest winning streak in 4A District 2 this week by beating Carroll, 51-6. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Tigers.
Neville took down the Bulldogs 51-6 last week, the largest margin of any game. Kylon Highshaw caught 2 passes for 52 yards in the win.
Bastrop's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Christian Doaty threw for 462 and 4 touchdowns and Jamari Payne had 226 yards receiving. On the ground Jerry Powell chipped in 120 yards. Isaiah Graham helped Bastrop's passing attack out by catching 9 balls for 167 yards.
He went 32-51 with 0 interception.
Payne had a great week catching the football as the Rams fell to Parkway. He caught 13 passes for 226 yards.
Powell was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 120 yards on 11 carries as Bastrop fell to the Panthers. Teammate Antwon Green added to the ground attack by rushing for 92 yards.
Bastrop's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Rams feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Doaty has thrown for 1,013 yards and 11 touchdowns this season, while Payne has 30 catches for 407 yards.
Thomas Bachman's team led the league in scoring this week by notching 56 points on Thomas Bachman's team.
