The Pleasant Grove Vikings and the Skyridge Falcons squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Pleasant Grove Vikings had to settle for second. Pleasant Grove fell 37-30 to Skyridge. Pleasant Grove was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Skyridge apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October.
Although Pleasant Grove took the loss, they still got scores from Makai Peterson, Matt Morris, and Shawn Cottle.
Skyridge's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jack Burke, who picked up 99 receiving yards and two touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Sheffield, who rushed for 91 yards and a touchdown.
Pleasant Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Skyridge, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-2.
Pleasant Grove does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Skyridge will square off against American Fork at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. American Fork will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
