Erskine Academy hasn't had much luck against Lincoln Academy recently, but that could start to change on Friday. Erskine Academy is taking a road trip to take on Lincoln Academy at 4:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Erskine Academy has three straight victories, Lincoln Academy has six straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
While Erskine Academy's win against Morse wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Eagles had just enough and edged out the Shipbuilders 8-7.

Kelsie Dunn made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and five unearned) runs off seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Bryana Barrett, who went 4-for-5 with two runs and one RBI. Kammie Thompson also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Erskine Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 13 hits in three consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Lincoln Academy didn't have quite enough to beat Belfast on Wednesday and fell 5-4.
B Coffin was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs. G Ward was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.
Erskine Academy now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Lincoln Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.
Friday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Erskine Academy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .351. However, it's not like Lincoln Academy struggles in that department as they've averaged .364. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Erskine Academy came up short against Lincoln Academy in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, falling 8-5. Can Erskine Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
