Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for The Springville Red Devils, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They were just a hair shy of victory on Friday and fell 36-35 to Bountiful. Springville's defeat signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.
Several Red Devils players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Lisiate Valeti, who threw for 173 yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. The team also got some help courtesy of Tevita Valeti, who rushed for 159 yards and two touchdowns.
Bountiful found their leader in underclassman Siaki Fekitoa, who gained 126 total yards and three touchdowns. Fekitoa hasn't dropped below two rushing touchdowns for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Faletau Satuala, who gained 42 total yards and two touchdowns.
Springville's loss dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Bountiful, their win was their fifth straight on the road , which pushed their record up to 9-4.
Springville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Bountiful is on the road again on Thursday and play against Alta at 2:30 p.m. on November 9th. Alta has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 155 points over their last four matches.
