Having just played yesterday, the Christian Heritage Sentinels will head out on the road to face off against the Athens Christian Preparatory Academy Storm at 5:30 p.m. on February 6th. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Christian Heritage entered their tilt with the Eagles with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Christian Heritage simply couldn't be stopped on Monday as they easily beat the Eagles 56-17 on the road. 56 seems to be a good number for Christian Heritage as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Athens Christian Preparatory Academy over the Royals in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Athens Christian Preparatory Academy blew the Royals out of the water with a 55-15 final score. Athens Christian Preparatory Academy pushed the score to 37-12 by the end of the third, a deficit the Royals had little chance of recovering from.
Athens Christian Preparatory Academy's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Kiley Normandin, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 17 rebounds, and Rachel Richardson, who scored 23 points along with eight assists and three steals. Richardson is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Lexi Irvin, who scored six points along with two steals.
Christian Heritage has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. As for Athens Christian Preparatory Academy, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-6.
Everything came up roses for Christian Heritage against the Storm in their previous matchup back in January as the team secured a 53-25 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Christian Heritage since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
