Washington lost against Independence back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Rams lost 18-12 to the Patriots. Even though they lost, the Rams' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.5 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Austin Ashford stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Aurilio Chacon also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Washington's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Independence, the victory snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 2-5-1 record.

While Washington had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
