It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Oglesby Tigers had no problem doing just that on Friday. They breezed by Walnut Springs on the road to the tune of 60-14. The victory was just business as usual for Oglesby, who after ten games remain undefeated this season.
Kyler Fossett got back to being his usual excellent self, as he rushed for 252 yards and five touchdowns on only five carries, and also threw for 50 yards and a touchdown while completing 100% of his passes. Fossett was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 65 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Ej Aviles, who rushed for 69 yards and a touchdown.
Oglesby's win bumped their record up to 10-0. As for Walnut Springs, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7.
Oglesby will take on Oakwood at TBD on Friday. Oakwood is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Walnut Springs does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
