Baseball Recap: Standing Bear Triumphs

The Standing Bear Grizzlies narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Grand Island Islanders 5-4.

Drake Von Seggern looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He is becoming a predictor of Standing Bear's success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is 3-1 (and 2-4 when he doesn't).

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jackson Froeschl, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That double was his first of the season.

The victory got Standing Bear back to even at 5-5. As for Grand Island, they moved to 6-4 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.
