Baseball Recap: Jake Hester Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Malden

Twin Rivers barely beat Malden the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Twin Rivers never let Malden get on the board and left with a 15-0 win on Thursday. Considering the Royals have won four matches by more than eight runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Jake Hester was a standout: he scored three runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-3. Those stolen bases were his first of the season. Evan Bonifield was another key player, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 2-for-4.

Hester wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Twin Rivers kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive contests.

Twin Rivers' victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Malden, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Coming up, Twin Rivers is taking a road trip to square off against Van Buren at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Malden, they will take on Holcomb at 11:00 a.m. on Monday.
