Trinity Christian Academy is 6-1 against Ponte Vedra since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Trinity Christian Academy Conquerors will welcome the Ponte Vedra Sharks at 7:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.
Last Friday, it was close, but Trinity Christian Academy sidestepped North Marion for a 2-1 victory.
Brennan Bachtell Jr looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Gage Petrutz, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.
Meanwhile, Ponte Vedra never let their opponents score on Monday. They were the clear victor by an 11-0 margin over Riverside. That looming 11-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Sharks yet this season.
Roshan Patel was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in April of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one double. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in hits (two).
In other batting news, Ponte Vedra let James Salvati and Luke George run wild. Salvati scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while George scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances. George has become a key player for Ponte Vedra: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 1-2 otherwise.
Ponte Vedra's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs over those games. As for Trinity Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 3-0.
Trinity Christian Academy beat Ponte Vedra 6-2 in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Does Trinity Christian Academy have another victory up their sleeve, or will Ponte Vedra turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
