Baseball Recap: Skyview Academy Starts Season with Win on the Road

SkyView Academy had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They were the clear victors by a 33-4 margin over the Jefferson Saints on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Hawks in their matchups with the Saints: they've now won four in a row.

The team relied heavily on Chris Gallegos, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with five runs, seven RBI, and one triple. Logen Meyers was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI.

SkyView Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .696. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Jefferson only posted an OBP of .353.

This is the second loss in a row for Jefferson and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Coming up, SkyView Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Byers at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Jefferson, they will head out to square off against Arvada at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The contest will give Jefferson their first taste of in-conference action this season.
