After flying high against the Grand Canyon Phantoms last Tuesday, the Ash Fork Spartans came back down to earth. Ash Fork fell to Williams 45-39. If Ash Fork hoped to take revenge for the 44-28 loss against they when the teams met on Friday, then they were left disappointed.
Ash Fork's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Jesus Ayala, who scored 13 points, and Gabril Zeller who scored 12 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ayala has scored all season.
Ash Fork has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-11 record this season. As for Williams, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-8.
Ash Fork will head out on the road to challenge Seligman at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arizona (Seligman is ranked 299th, while Ash Fork is ranked 295th). Williams won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Fredonia at 12:30 p.m. on January 13th.
