Erie hasn't had much luck against Holy Family recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Erie Tigers will host the Holy Family Tigers at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Erie is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They escaped with a win on Friday against Rocky Mountain by the margin of a single free throw, 67-66.

Christopher Smith and Patrick Hahn were among the main playmakers for Erie as the former went 6 for 10 from beyond the arc on his way to 22 points and the latter went 7 of 8 on his way to 16 points and three steals. That's the most points Smith has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Callen Gebhardt, who went 5 of 7 on his way to 11 points in addition to seven boards and three steals.
Erie was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Holy Family's strategy against Summit on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Holy Family blew Summit out of the water with an 86-44 final score. Holy Family has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matches by 25 points or more this season.
Erie better keep an eye on Rocco Howes. He was instrumental in Holy Family's win, going 9 of 12 on his way to 22 points and eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Schott, who went 5 of 8 on his way to 14 points and four steals.
Holy Family is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.0 points per game. As for Erie, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as Erie and Holy Family are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Erie hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 57.3 points per game. However, it's not like Holy Family struggles in that department as they've been averaging 62.9 points. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.
Erie was taken down by Holy Family 61-34 in their previous matchup back in January of 2022. Thankfully for Erie, Grayden Harkness (who went 8 of 10 on his way to 21 points) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
