The Poth Pirates will be home for the holidays to greet the Southwest Dragons at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Tuesday, Poth was able to grind out a solid win over Nixon-Smiley, taking the game 55-47. Given Poth's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 179th, while Nixon-Smiley is ranked 996th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Southwest earned a 68-55 victory over Seguin on Tuesday.
