While losing is never fun, Jefferson City can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 337th, while New Madrid County Central is ranked ninth).
Jadis Jones continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for New Madrid County Central, dropping a double-double on 30 points and 15 rebounds. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Jones has scored at least 25% of New Madrid County Central's points. The team also got some help courtesy of AJ Ruff, who scored 17 points along with five assists and four steals.
Jefferson City now has a losing record at 2-3. As for New Madrid County Central, their win bumped their record up to 6-1.
Jefferson City will be home for the holidays to greet East St. Louis at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. East St. Louis knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight contests -- so hopefully Jefferson City likes a good challenge. New Madrid County Central will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Germantown at 5:30 p.m. on December 28th.
