The Larned Indians lost against the Nickerson Panthers last Friday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Larned was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 54-53 to the Panthers. Larned has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Nickerson's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Taylor Engelland, who scored 15 points. It was the first time this season that Engelland scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Alex King, who scored 12 points.
Larned has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-9-2 record this season. As for Nickerson, their win bumped their record up to 3-10.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Halstead the next time they take the court. Nickerson will head out to face Halstead at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Larned will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
